The Centre County Local Interagency Coordinating Council Invites You to Join Us!

The Centre County Local Interagency Coordinating Council (LICC) wants to take this opportunity to invite you to get involved. Join us in the support, promotion, and improvement to early intervention services to infants, toddlers and preschool children with special needs and their families, in Centre County. Whether your family is a newcomer to the early intervention system or has been receiving services, the LICC needs your support and involvement.

The LICC consists of parents of children receiving early intervention services, as well as representatives from provider organizations, the Central Intermediate Unit, Office of Mental Health/ Mental Retardation, and public agencies. Our goal is to coordinate services among agencies, support parents and families and their needs, and to discover new ways to improve and coordinate early intervention services in our community. The LICSS provides parents with a voice and forum to speak on behalf of their child's needs and concerns. Parents will have the opportunity to meet and talk with people who are directly involved in the early intervention system, as well as other parents in similar circumstances. The LICC also provides parents the opportunity to learn more about topics relating to special needs and the services available and to keep abreast of ongoing early intervention developments.

We invite and encourage you to join us on the LICC. Your involvement will not only give you a voice in defining concerns and problems, but will give you the opportunity to become part of the solutions that benefit all children with special needs and their families. You can really make a positive difference for all children and families in the Early Intervention System, now and in the future. Your involvement is crucial- make a difference!
