Centre County Drug and Alcohol
Treatment Services
Centre County continues to offer a full array of services for individuals with drug and alcohol treatment needs. At least one provider is under contract for each service as required by the Department of Health contract.
Outpatient Services
Clients requesting outpatient services are given the names, phone numbers, and addresses of the SCA's three contracted outpatient providers. The client may then choose an agency to call and schedule an appointment.Inpatient Services
Drug and Alcohol Case Management staff are responsible for completing screenings and assessments for those clients who are requesting inpatient services (i.e., detoxification, rehabilitation, halfway house, and partial hospitalization).
Referrals for assessment for these services can come directly from the client, drug and alcohol outpatient providers, criminal justice system, Children and Youth Services, or schools. Regardless of who makes the referral, the individual in need of treatment must be willing to participate and want to go to treatment. Every effort is made to assess a client within 1-2 business days of referral.
Staff assesses the client using approved assessment tools and specific eligibility criteria. They complete all of the necessary paperwork including client liability and authorizations to release information. Staff assesses client need and then, with client consent, makes a referral to a treatment facility based on needed level of care and special needs of the client (i.e., women, women with children, dual diagnosis, gay/lesbian, HIV/AIDS, heroin, adolescents, etc.).
