About Centre Crest
The award-winning Centre Crest Nursing Home has been providing exceptional short term and long term nursing care for over 71 years. The facility, whose main building opened in 1939 and was expanded in 1964 and 1972, was extensively renovated throughout in 1996 and currently has a capacity of 240 beds. The facility has received numerous Nursing Home of the Year Awards presented by the Pennsylvania Association of County Affiliated Homes.
Centre Crest offers a home-like, resident-centered atmosphere. It provides a meaningful and purposeful program of life enrichment activities. Its therapeutic recreation program is designed to improve the resident's quality of life through recreation and leisure which are based on the interests, needs and abilities of the resident.
Centre Crest, in addition to short term and long term nursing services, provides on-site rehabilitation services including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. The state of the art rehabilitation suite is equipped with whirlpool facilities, modern exercise equipment, a simulated kitchen and bedroom area, and simulated laundry room. Approximately 25-30 residents return home each year, after completing their rehabilitation program at Centre Crest.
A twenty-four bed segregated Alzheimer's Unit, Stanton Court, has been in the forefront of providing care for residents with dementia since 1996.
Recognized for its progressive approach toward care and high staffing levels, Stanton Court is known as one of the best specialized units in the area. Purposeful activities occupy the residents with meaningful projects, create new interests and encourage participation in past interests. Professional around the clock nursing care and a well-trained staff have all contributed to the success of Stanton Court. Families have the assurance of knowing that their loved one can be easily transferred to another area should more nursing support be needed.
On-site X-rays eliminate the need to travel to the hospital for routine X-ray exams. Hospice service provides additional nursing and emotional support for residents whose condition is terminal. A Registered Dietician assures that well-balanced and specialized diets are provided.
Centre Crest, in an effort to continuously improve the services it offers, participates in a Corporate Compliance Program, an Ethics Committee and an Alzheimer's Steering Committee. Community representatives sit on selected committees. Centre Crest believes in being a resource for the community and therefore provides numerous educational opportunities for the community, and it hosts an Alzheimer's Support Group which meets monthly, and is open to all members of the community. Please contact the Social Service Department of Centre Crest, regarding the specific day and time.
Centre Crest accepts Medicare, Medical Assistance, managed care and private pay residents. The cost of medications will be billed to the appropriate Insurance, when information is provided. Family and/or Resident is only responsible for any Pharmacy expenses not covered by a Third Party Reimbursement Source.
With new emphasis for facilities to undergo a cultural change in how they deliver care, Centre Crest places emphasis on creating a more home-like environment for the residents. Recent renovations include a colorful meditation garden in a beautiful courtyard setting for the enjoyment of residents, staff and visitors. To learn more about Centre Crest, contact:
