  • Public Notice

    The Centre County Office of Emergency Services and Centre County Planning and Community Development Office are in the process of updating the Centre County Hazard Mitigation Plan. The final public meeting for the plan is scheduled for 6:30pm on Thursday, March 18th at the auditorium of the Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology, 540 Harrison Road, Pleasant Gap PA, 16823.   • Seedling Sale

    As a service to the County, the Centre County Conservation District has hosted an annual tree seedling sale for over 20 years. Deadline for orders is March 17, 2010.

  • Marcellus Shale Gas Drilling Updates

    2009 Activity Report/2010 Outlook and Drilled Sites in Centre County, January 14, 2010 are now available.

  • Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

    IRS certified TCE/VITA preparers assist seniors and low income clients with Federal and State return. Tax assistance is offered from February through April in several locations through out Centre County; please call the RSVP office at 355-6816 for specific locations or if you are interested in becoming a VITA Volunteer.

    The Get Help Now PA! Help Desk is staffed by volunteer lawyers and financial professionals and provides free assistance and referrals related to credit, finance and other economic issues to Pennsylvanians experiencing financial difficulties because of the economic downturn.

    Free MapsThis page was created by the GIS and Planning Departments and was designed as a repository for free public maps. The following types of maps are now available: Hillshade, Comprehensive Plan, Visitors, Greenway, and Streets.

  • Check the Status of Your Property Tax/Rent Rebate Online

    A new Web tool allows Pennsylvanians to check the status of their property tax/rent rebates. Six weeks after submitting a Property Tax/Rent Rebate application, the applicant may visit www.papropertytaxrelief.com and check the status of the rebate by entering his/her Social Security number, anticipated rebate amount and birth date.

    The Office of Children and Youth Services presents a new page offering resources, training, upcoming events, forms, and more for foster parents and for those interested in becoming foster parents.

  • First Time Home Buyers Program [PDF]

    Maybe you've thought about owning your home for some time but assumed you could not afford it. Perhaps changes in your life have forced you to find a new place to live. In either case, you may be able to find help through this new program which is being offered by the Centre County Commissioners.

  • Grief Support Group

    Centre Crest will be holding a monthly Grief Support Group. It is free of charge and open to the public. Various topics will be covered and there will be occasional guest speakers. If you have suffered a loss and are experiencing difficulty, we encourage you to attend.

  • Central Pennsylvania Community Action Programs

    The PA Accessible Housing Program is a housing modification program intended to assist disabled consumers in Centre and Clearfield Counties, afford decent housing and avoid institutionalization caused by lack of accessibility. By means of increasing the ability of low-income adults and families with disabled occupants to function effectively in their homes and communities.

  • Prescription Discount Card

    The Centre County Commissioners in a joint effort with the National Association of Counties (NACo) are proud to present the Centre County Prescription Discount Card. This card is available to all Centre County residents. It provides savings on prescription drugs that are not covered by insurance. There is no enrollment form, no membership fee, and no cost to the County.

  • PACE/PACENET and Medicare Part D Questions and Answers

    PACE (Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly)/PACENET will combine benefits with Medicare Part D. You receive the same coverage that you currently receive with PACE/PACENET plus, in most cases, additional benefits with Medicare Part D.
